Lost in Society
Asbury Park, NJ
Jolting, fierce and raw: Lost In Society's live show has been described as all of the above. The NJÂbased alternative punk act has been covering some serious ground in the past few years, from their stint on Vans Warped Tour in the summer of 2012 and their official spot on CMJ Music Marathon to their career-breaking performances with acts such as The Bouncing Souls, Off With Their Heads, The Flatliners, The Pietasters and Teenage Bottlerocket, among others. The fiery trio hit the studio with Pete Steinkopf of the Bouncing Souls in the spring of 2011 to record an EP that was released on Altercation Records as a split album with indie rockers American Pinup. Wasting no time at all, LIS hit the studio with producer Jon Leidersdorf at Lakehouse Studios in early 2012. A follow up full length titled Let It Sail was released in June of that year. The album received attention all over the world, and rave reviews poured in from outlets such as Alternative Press, AMP Magazine and The Aquarian Weekly. That year the group also took home the award for Top Punk Band in the Asbury Music Awards, based in their hometown of Asbury Park. Pounding the pavement with their dedicated DIY approach has taken the punk rock trio out to SXSW and back both in March 2012 and 2013. Their electrifying live shows and one-of-a-kind contagious sound have given the group a reputation that parallels punk acts such as Rise Against and Greenday early in their careers. Their steadfast approach to touring, recording and promotion has made LIS one of most viable alternative punk bands today.
"This is three-piece music that doesn't hide behind layers of bullshit fuzz or keyboard droning distractions as they pound the crowd with song after clever song ranging in subject from possible firearms possession to love molested chemistry experiments." -John Pfeiffer of the Aquarian Weekly
