The Smith Street Band
Melbourne Australia's THE SMITH STREET BAND have gotten a lot of shit done in 12 months; released 2nd album 'Sunshine & Technology' to awesome acclaim, toured all over Australia twice, brought pals Bomb the Music Industry to Oz for the first time ever, and visited China to perform for the first time. Frank Turner also called them 'his new favourites', which was pretty nice.
These guys destroyed themselves and made a zillion new friends on a self-booked 20-date maiden US tour last year; that included Fest 11. Being partial to mock-meat and mid-priced beer, they discovered Fest's $5 PBR and whiskey shot drink special, plus Boca Fiesta's culinary delights, so there's really no way to keep them away from Fest 12.
Loveable and honest as ever, front man Wil Wagner's distinctly narrative vocal delivery melds perfectly with their brand of high-energy, 90's-indie tinged punk rock. Lyrically infectious, The Smith Street Band shows are joyous, unpredictable parties. Come Fest 12 the band will have a new release under their belts, so if you know what's good for you you'll come put your fist (or drink) in the air and yell along some words. You'll leave with a grin on your face and fire in your belly.
