"...when you don't do, what you're supposed to do, something horrible happens."
There's this feeling that you've heard this band before. Not in a bad way, but in a way that makes you want to search for something when you go home. Some records, probably of the 7" variety, from a certain era, when guitars were really distorted, drums were frantic, and the singing would have barely qualified as "singing". These men and lady probably don't care who you compare them to, though. Perhaps they would even appreciate it if you offered no comparison, even though you will probably think of one. That band you saw in a basement in '96, that day your friend gave you a romulan haircut and let you borrow a white belt. And odds are, there will probably be some elements that sound exactly like what you're thinking of. That'll happen when you have about 50 cumulative years of post-hardcore knowledge shared between 4 people.
Post modernist pancakes. That's pancakes, cut up and put into pancake batter, and poured to make more pancakes. Thats a good metaphor to describe So Pastel. Kenny Shopsin would begrudgingly approve.
(as explained by James Hernandez, who's reputation precedes him)
