Hey FEST Friends,
Today we are extremely proud to announce that after a few months of planning & begging, FEST 12 will be hosting some screenings of an amazing documentary that you all NEED
to see called FILMAGE!
FILMAGE: The story of DESCENDENTS/ALL
Directed by Matt Riggle and Deedle LaCour
90 minutes, showing the film from Blu-Ray in Stereo.
Long before Green Day and Blink 182 inflicted punk-rock's puncture wound on the map of mainstream music, the Descendents were in a garage concocting the perfect mix of pop, angst, love, and coffee.
FILMAGE: THE STORY OF DESCENDENTS / ALL follows band leader/drummer/square-peg Bill Stevenson and his "caffeinated retardedness" as he pushes his rotating door of bandmates to "achieve ALL," his philosophy of going for greatness at all costs. Stevenson is a force to be reckoned with, proving that not even a grapefruit-sized brain tumor can keep him down.
Interviews with the band, along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Mike Watt (Minutemen), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion) and many more reveal the story of a band--if not THE band--responsible for pop-punk as you know it.
I was lucky enough to be sent an advance stream of the film and I have to say it is such an amazing film that I had to make it happen at FEST! What better place to show it in a town filled with music geeks right?
We will be doing three screenings of the film at THE WOOLY. We will have 250 seats with more standing room in the back so COME EARLY!!!
THE WOOLY will also be putting out a killer brunch buffet spread and brunch special drinks (Bloodies/ Mimosas etc.) that will start an hour before the film. Will cost ya money to eat/ drink, and since it's the folks from the TOP so you know it will be slammin'! Even more incentive to get your assed up there early right?
After the film, Justin Wilson & Matt Riggle, who made the film, will be selling special merch from the film and be availble for your questions/hangs.

Wondering how you will be getting from Tampa to Gainesville and then back to Tampa to fly home? Well, we have you covered!
The PCFE is our charter bus system we set up for you to easily get from Tampa to Gainesville on Thursday 10/31 and then back to Tampa on Monday 11/4.
A seat is $40 each way. Each bus seats 55 people and has WiFi, A/C, plenty of room underneath to stow your bags, and will be showing a movie each way as well so you can kick back and rest up for the party ahead or for your post FEST depression when you get home.
These are NON STOP trips too so it will get you there in about 2 hours.
We will also have some bonus gifts for everyone riding to Gainesville on the 31st! I'm pretty stoked at what we have lined up so far.
