I'm trying to find prices for the gainesville lodge motel (413 W University Ave). Seems pretty cheap and close to action. Anyone can help? A website for the rates/booking would be great, I would hate if i had to call from Canada...

I think that's the one that infamously doesn't like Festers.

yeah, I'd actually call if I were you, because this place has a reputation. Supposedly, you can only book a room if you act like you know nothing about The Fest, and if they find out you lied to them, they kick you out. If someone begged them enough and promised to be model guests, they might still get shot down, but it's worth a try.

there was report of the city about the Fest last year, when they called up different bars, hotels and so on and the lodge was one of them and they actually said they had Fest guests and it was okay that year, but that they had troubles in the past..

maybe they changed their policy again, but I heard from several locals as well, that after one Fest where they had trouble, they didn't pick up festers in the following years and not sure if you wann risk it to be rejected at the check in and that don't have any hotel

Justin from Underground Communique Records has just booked a room there. They even asked him if he's coming for Fest and still let him book a room so maybe all is ok now. I would recommend against it though if you wanna party, I suspect you'll need to be very well behaved if you stay there!

yea its in the middle of the action (like right in the middle b/w Holiday Inn and the Venue).

i used to hear that they refused to book any festers... but all the insanity i think happened during the Fest 3 or 4, so maybe they calmed down about it now.
