More info about Pre-Fest Show at Boca Fiesta with Panthro UK United 13 show on Thursday October 29th!

I've been told by the Boca Fiesta people that the Pre-Fest show lineup is now going to be us, Toys That Kill and Strikeforce Diablo. Not a bad night out. Seriously. In fact, I would hazard to say that it will be a fanfuckingtastic night out.

So pull out your old parachute pants, grab your best 'street' shoes, grab a large cardboard box and get out all of your breakdancing now. Why? Due to a Gainesville public ordinance, breakdancing is no longer allowed in public places due to the fact that it is 'incredibly and unendurably lame'. That's not me saying that, it's the language used in the ordinance. Honestly. It was drawn up when some reality talent show threatened to bring breakdancing back to the public consciousness. There are many lines in the ordinace addressing this concern :

...and the heretofore mentioned 'breakdancing' phenomena, once thought to be dead and, thankfully, buried, seems to have resurfaced, despite the social cement that had been poured in on top of its coffin. This moribund and, unfortunately zombie-esque style of visual abuse has resurfaced yet again, much like an unpleasant, if not strictly malignant growth picked up one night in a moment of poor decision-making masquerading as an attitude of 'carpe diem'. In order to prevent the spread of this blight onto the streets of Gainesville, we, the City Council members, henceforth ban the enacting of, and participation in the aforementioned embarrassment to civil, and uncivil, society. This is due to what is clearly, to us, the Gainesville City Council members, what one can only assume to be a visual dance interpretation of an abortion of both hundreds of human babies, and kittens, simultaneously. That and the fact that it is incredibly and unendurably lame. Honestly, who wants to see kittens being aborted?

Well. there you have it. I was a bit taken aback by the language used by the city council in their drawing up of this particular ordinance, but, hey, what are you going to do? Perhaps someone slipped them Sanka in place of their coffee that morning. Sanka?
Anyway, come to the show. We're certain that you'll have an enjoyable time. Shit, with all the breakdancing we're gonna do, you damn well better believe you're gonna have a good time.

This sucks. Strikeforce Diablo tops my list of bands I want to see, but the 1982 pre Fest show has an amazing line up. I guess I'll probably go to 1982 and try to catch strikeforce during the actual Fest.

I already have scheduling conflicts and the schedule isn't even announced yet. = (

I no longer care who plays 1982. No one who could even be a remote possibility can beat out PUKU13.

i'll prob hit the 1982 show, and stop by boca on my way home.

i had never heard panthro before i just checked out their myspace, and they were really good.

Well I missed the 1982 show last year because it filled up too fast, that will probably happen again this year so hopefully if it does I can get into the boca show. If i can't get into either I will be supremely disappointed
