also getting used to it, still wouldn't mind a different color scheme.
but two big suggestions-
When I hit reply, and the old posts are moved to the bottom of the page for reference, they get forced into a really narrow column. Any chance of fixin' that? not a big deal.
more important- when I click external links in posts, they open up in the same frame. On the old board, they opened in a new window. Can we get that back, or at least open in a new tab? I'm too lazy to right click on every link.

Ok, the links opening in a new window has been fixed. You can test a link and read about what I did here. The other problem I can't replicate. Everything looks okay to me. Send me a screen shot. GiveBlood wrote: also getting used to it, still wouldn't mind a different color scheme.

Oh yeah, sorry the board went down for a little while. It's been a shitty few weeks as far as web hosting problems go.

Yeah, mine doesn't look like that Philip. What browser are you using? Looks OK in Camino, Firefox, and Safari.

How come my URLs sometime shorten and sometimes don't? I'm not clicking the "Do not automatically parse URLs" check box if that is it. My links to my photos are insanely long.

yeah man, mine doesn't do that either. I would try Firefox if it's bugging the hell out of you. GiveBlood wrote: peej wrote: The other problem I can't replicate. Everything looks okay to me. Not sure. This new board version has an insane amount of admin options. Send me an example of what you're talking about and I'll try to figure it out. I deleted that attachment to stop the screen stretching, didn't realize it would show up like that in the thread.
the weird column shape is no big deal, just wondering about it. Not bugging me enough to switch browsers yet, but I'll probably get into Firefox eventually.

If you go back through the older posts most links and images are no longer working. Frustrating and makes everything no longer make sense.

I did some research on why HTML isn't working anymore and found that PHPBB3 (the upgraded board we are using) doesn't allow html because allowing users to post html is a major security vulnerability. Instead they are insisting people use BBCode, which are the little buttons between the subject field and the body field when you are composing a post. If you mouse over them you should get little instructions on how to use each one. After doing some reading and because of the amount of spammers that have found their way to this board in the past I'm inclined to agree with the no html thing. You can find a little tutorial on BBCode here. Plus, the little buttons up top are really easy to use. For long url's try this: Code: [url=http://url]URL text[/url] That makes it so you can do links like this: My Photo BlogI'm still searching for a way to resize posted images. The big images are kind of annoying. Thanks for the suggestions and putting up with all the changes.

small suggestion on resizing large images-
can we change the degree to which images are resized??
the space for messages shows up just about 7 inches, but there could be about a 10 inch wide image posted without stretching the board so far you have to scroll sideways.
I just hate the pixelation of clumsily resized images, almost as much as I hate stretched boards.
