they gave you shit for your lens size or tripod or something?

they were a lot more strict about where photo people could be standing and taking shots from
from a video person stand point I loved the new rules, that loft area was the greatest thing the Venue could have done and it made it where a lot less people were in the way (whenever we get a chance to put out the D4 footage from last year you'll understand why I love this)

I can totally see why others would hate it though but even Sunday without the Anthem guys it was awesome for me

i haven't asked a stupid question in a few days, so i'm due: what were the Anthem guys?

someone told me it was private security but a few of them were enjoying themselves too much to be private security, plus someone told me at the warehouse show that the actual Venue bouncers/security got into an altercation or two with the dudes in red anthem shirts.

Best:

Watching the arrivals with tears in my eyes because they just fucking hit that perfect nerve of exactly what I felt like right fucking then. God damn that was amazing.

Worst:

My friend disappearing while having a panic attack on Saturday morning and me thinking he was dead for like 2 days until I found out he was fine and had just freaked out and gone home. Bastard.

haha, no, but it's crazy that this happened to more than one person.
My friend's name is Scott, if you met a cute little dude on a bike with glasses riding around being crazy it was him.

EDIT: Just realized everyone probably met 500 little dudes on bikes with glasses. Christ.

ah ok
our friend Russ disappeared after all the shows Friday night but we didn't realize it until about Sunday morning when we all went "where the fuck was he yesterday?" his phone was off the entire time too, thankfully we got in touch with him Sunday night and all was well

I just got spoiled last year mostly. I could run along side of the stage and slide across the ground RIGHT in front of ANY band and shoot. Like I literally laid in front of Seaweed and Raygun. This year we were told that only 5 of us were allowed there at time and could only shoot in a boring ass line from the same angle. Not my style. And MW is ALL ABOUT stage diving and crowd surfing and I knew the Venue freaks on that. I figured it was a bad scene all round to avoid.

Yeah, first thing I asked when they told me the new rules was: "can I shoot from where the video crew are?" and told them I know you guys. I knew that new loft has been there for a good while now and had been really looking forward to shooting from there at the Fest. When the answer was "NO" I said screw it and didn't got to The Venue once all Fest. :( Not worth the pain in my ass.

Anthem as in Anthem Tattoo. Same guys were tattooing in the registration area. They just to happened to work security at the Fest this and last year too. But after the mace incident they refused to work security anymore and I imagine they won't be next year either.
