It's okay to go by yourself if you're down with doing things independently. It's also okay to go by yourself if you LOVE meeting new people. Whatever your case, I bet you always end the Fest weekend knowing more people than you knew at the start. If not, we need to fix that!

yeah, I went by myself last year, but I usually had someone to talk to and eat with when I wasn't off on my own mission.

Not so sure that is the case anymore, but I could be wrong.

NOT the case.
Nobody gets to skip the lines unless they're working that venue.

Mackenzie, are you going to need volunteers to film again this year? I helped at the Atlantic at the Fest 5. I had a lot of fun and so I'd like to help out again if you needed it.

Volunteering requires you to attend a volunteer sign up session that's about an hour long, weeks before the Fest, usually at Wayward Council and provide your own shirt for screen printing. Then you must attend a mantadory meeting discussing all of the volunteer positions and responsibilities the day before, or the first morning of the Fest and pick up your shirt. Volunteers are needed for registration, doors, stage hands, and stage managers. I worked the door last year at the Atlantic and it was alright. You can hear the bands but for the most part you cannot see the show that you are working (this is different for stage hands i'm guessing). I've found that most volunteers are local and yes you do get a free Fest pass, but you can't skip lines and you can't leave your post during the 4-6 hour shift to go see your favorite band. Volunteers really help make the Fest so I strongly believe only reliable people should sign up and what I mean is no "i'm too hungover to work my shift" assholes. This year is going to be awesome and I'm definately volunteering again...just...not on Halloween haha.

There are only around 20 people that can skip lines at the Fest not including the people working that specific said line to be skipped. And most of them can be found in the No Idea office most days of the week.

uhh, I'm 16. Is there any way I can possibly volunteer? I went last year when I was 15 and had no real problems getting into shows, would this be a issue this year? I really want to go again.
