This is also my first Fest, and Ive been lurking for a while, but I still have some questions. First off, my conclusion has been that I am going to stay at the Rush Motel, for one reason, because it is cheap as fuck. If I need to be steered away of this please let me know. Also Im going with 4 other friends and I dont know the Holiday Inns policy on 5 people in one room. Second, my main concern. Im not exactly 21. Basically, just tell me that no one gives a shit if Im drunk in a venue, or in and around my place of stay.

check the Fest faq's on the festfl.com for most of the answers.
i believe the rush (i could be wrong, but i'm thinking of the one on university) is the place not allowing festers. lame? yeah, probably, but that's the deal, so get over it, pussy, and cry about it somewhere else.
otherwise, a big fuck yeah to hitting your first Fest.

Basically, just tell me that no one gives a shit if Im drunk in a venue, or in and around my place of stay. I don't know what any places policy on 5 people to a room is. I doubt it'd be a big deal, though you'd probably have to share only two or three keys. Just pretend like there are only two or three of you staying in the room...with all those people running about at the Holiday Inn, I don't think anyone would notice. Rush LAKE does allow Festers, but its not right close by. I stayed there last year, its pretty decent and has wifi, if you've got a laptop. Its a fair walk from everything, but close enough. That place on University that doesn't allow Fest guests would really be the perfect spot. Its a super cheap motel, but I guess they had problems or something a few years back and now they take no part in Fest what so ever. If they so much as think you're staying there and attending Fest, they'll boot you...at least that's what I heard. Lame. And, from what I saw, as long as you're not acting a fool, you should be fine being a drunk underager...not that I condone that kind of thing.

Should combine this with the other 1st timer thread. Rush Lake is off the main drag as far as Fest goes, it is about 1.5-2 miles walk and if you know the back way its pretty close. Gainesville is very hardcore on not drinking outside of the venue, don't get caught with an open container outside even if you are over 21. If you are under 21 no one is going to give a shit as long as you don't have an open container, but don't get caught in the venue with an X on your hand and a beer in it also.

Yea, I kinda fucked up there, sorry.. dystopia wrote: Should combine this with the other 1st timer thread. Is there a lot of other Festers that stay there (Rush Lake) as well? Because it's cheap, but I would rather sepnd the extra $60 a night to have triple the fun at the Holiday Inn (assuming that is the official Fest hotel this year as well.)
