I've somehow missed this every year. Doesn't sound like a real organized contest.

Last year they posted about it & they picked my idea of Best Garage Sale Table or whatnot.
Not sure if it happened this year!
There's always next year though.

whateeever phillip. erica is a teacher and everything, maybe she heard about my school of thought (as pertains to Fest) that "when you speak as fast as the bands play their music then you have more time to see those bands play and less time forced talking to..... ugh... people."
on a serious note Phillip, you were as rad as I remember from the Paint It Black show in May. Thanks for taking your time after Young Livers at Common Grounds and giving me some much needed advice on building a vinyl collection. I know it must have killed you to talk to someone with the exact opposite taste in beer... that taste being i don't care about taste, i just want to get drunk for next to nothing!!

it was more advice on how to approach purchasing a turntable. Figure out what you want out of your set up, and plan accordingly.

Burn.
yeah i definitely fucked that part up when i typed it, i deserved a smartass answer like that but I meant more along the lines of quality and types of records and how they sound on different players. I was thanking him since he "dumbed it down" for my rookie vinyl lover ass.

single best piece of best vinyl advice-
thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales.
any album that came out over 20 years ago and has NOT been remastered in the past 12 years will sound better on vinyl than CD.
Best possbile example- Bruce Springsteen - "The River"
sounds like total ass on CD, sounds amazing on vinyl.
